The Museum of African Art in Belgrade proudly announces a new edition of the Afro Festival, taking place on June 28 and 29, 2025.

For over two decades, the Afro Festival has been a unique event on Serbia’s cultural scene – a space for open dialogue, learning, artistic exchange, and the celebration of the richness of African culture.
Over the course of two festival days, the museum transforms into a vibrant and dynamic stage – a meeting place for cultural traditions, contemporary expressions, and authentic artistic inspiration. With numerous educational and entertaining programs for both children and adults, the festival encourages the preservation of cultural heritage and promotes African art, crafts, and cultural practices.

Durbar – African Diversity at Your Fingertips
With the support of the African diplomatic community in Belgrade, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the diverse cultural, touristic, and culinary offerings of African countries within the Durbar program.

This year’s Durbar participants include the embassies of Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Ghana, Egypt, DR Congo, Cuba, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, and Tunisia, as well as the consulates of Gabon, Jamaica, and Namibia.
Musical Spectacle: Kasiva Mutua
The festival’s special guest is Kasiva Mutua – Kenya’s leading percussionist, singer, guitarist, and songwriter, renowned for blending traditional African rhythms with jazz, hip-hop, reggae, and funk. Her work fosters dialogue between heritage and modernity, while conveying a powerful message of gender equality. At the festival, she will lead an interactive percussion workshop and perform an unforgettable open-air concert in the museum garden.
The full program and schedule will be announced soon.
