Important Meetings and Discussions for the Future
Just as the business delegation started its journey to China on November 3rd, the political-economic delegation has already completed an exceptionally successful first day.
It was a great honour for Marjana Majerič, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Žiga Vavpotič, President of the Slovenian-Chinese Business Council, to be part of the visit of the President of the National Council, Marko Lotrič, and his advisers during the largest historical delegation to China, with the entire delegation numbering more than 80 people.
Two important meetings followed — with Mr Wang Huning, President of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, one of the most influential ideologists in China and the third most important political figure in the country, Mr Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
The Chinese hosts also organised the visit to the Great Hall of the People.
Later today, after the successful meetings, the delegation concluded its visit to Beijing and continued to Qingdao.
The Slovenian-Chinese Business Council expresses its deep appreciation for the visionary leadership of the President of the National Council, who recognises that when it comes to cooperation with China, the connection between politics and business goes hand in hand – a point emphasised by many Chinese interlocutors, further strengthening the already successful collaboration.
SKPS also extends its sincere gratitude for the excellent cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Beijing, represented by the outstanding diplomat, Ambassador Boštjan Malovrh, and the Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia in Shanghai, headed by Mira Lesjak.
