On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Bled hosted the annual Rotary District 1912 Conference – a gathering of Rotarians to reflect, celebrate, and welcome new leadership for the upcoming Rotary year.
Highlights of the Day
- Governor’s Chain Handover:
Outgoing District Governor Miroslav Štravs ceremonially passed the governor’s chain to his successor Matjaž Novak, who will lead the district in the 2025–2026 Rotary year. The handover symbolized continuity and the start of a new chapter filled with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.


- Annual Reflections:
Reports on the work of the Rotary Slovenia Association, district committees, and youth branches (Rotaract and Interact) highlighted a productive year filled with impactful projects and community engagement.
- Recognition and Awards:
Several distinguished Rotarians were honoured for their dedication and service with Rotary Gold Awards and special acknowledgements, including the title “Rotarian of the Year.”
- Musical Debut – Rotary Big Band:
The newly formed Rotary Big Band had its first performance, showcasing the talent and cultural vibrancy within the Rotary family. The ensemble, made up of professional musicians, aims to promote joy and connection through music.
- Membership Milestone:
District 1912 celebrated surpassing 2,000 members across Rotary and Rotaract, a testament to the growing appeal of Rotary’s mission and values.

Under the themes “The Magic of Rotary” and “Unite for Good,” the conference concluded with optimism and renewed energy. The new Rotary year brings opportunities to strengthen collaboration, launch new service initiatives, and continue making a meaningful impact in communities near and far.
