From 7–9 October 2026, Cukrarna will once again serve as a meeting place for critical thought, experimental music, internet culture, visual art, and design.
Under the theme “Hyperconsumption”, this year’s Festival Indigo will explore the crisis of oversaturation that defines contemporary society through an interdisciplinary programme combining philosophy, music, and contemporary design.
Guided by the provocative motto “Slop Till You Drop”—a reference to the endless consumption of low-quality digital and cultural content—the festival will create a space for reflection, critical thinking, and the search for collective responses to a world in which both causes and consequences are becoming increasingly unpredictable.
Through music performances, conversations and lectures, the three-day programme will bring together leading voices from the fields of contemporary art, design, philosophy, literature and music.
This year’s programme features Autechre, Andrej Nikolaidis & Aljoša Pužar, Dean Kissick & David Rudnick, Fatima Al Qadiri, François Cusset, FRANKIE & Kelman Duran, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, Ian Anderson (The Designers Republic), Mark Leckey, MDX (Gescom / Skam), Mladen Dolar, New Models, Simon Denny, and many more speakers and performers.

Hyperconsumption – An Age of Unpredictability
Under the theme “Hyperconsumption”, Festival Indigo will explore the crisis of oversaturation that defines contemporary society through an interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy, music and contemporary design. Guided by the provocative motto “Slop Till You Drop,” the festival will create a space for critical reflection, dialogue and the search for collective responses to a world in which both causes and consequences are becoming increasingly unpredictable.
We are living through a moment of profound civilisational strain. The relentless overproduction of material goods, digital content and informational noise shapes the rhythm of our everyday lives. Individuals are increasingly reduced to passive recipients of algorithmically generated clutter, trapped in an endless cycle of consumption, attention and perpetual activity.
Festival Indigo goes beyond a critique of consumerism. Instead, it focuses on a pivotal turning point: our actions today trigger chains of consequences that can no longer be fully anticipated or controlled. The festival examines the social, environmental and psychological effects of a world driven by excess, acceleration and constant production.
Hyperconsumption is therefore an invitation to pause, to rethink our assumptions and to imagine new forms of collective action at a time when the consequences of our decisions are becoming ever more complex and far-reaching.
