The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, attended the 57th ceremony of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s awards for exceptional economic and entrepreneurial achievements and said on this occasion that “the key to success is not in selecting the best individuals, but in creating a culture of their successful and effective collaboration”.
In her address to businesspeople and entrepreneurs at the ceremony in Cankarjev Dom, the President of the Republic emphasized the importance of innovation, cooperation and perseverance demonstrated by this year’s awardees. As she said, the success of the Slovenian economy is the result of hard work, knowledge and vision implemented by leading companies and their employees. She also highlighted the timeless thought of the Greek philosopher Aristotle, which is also the inspiration for this year’s award ceremony: “The whole is more than the sum of its parts,” and emphasized that such a mindset and way of working undoubtedly pave the way to success and are a guarantee of the development of our economy, which creates surpluses. “These arise when the knowledge, experience and innovative ideas of individuals merge into mutual trust, cooperation and common goals. The key to success is not in choosing the best individuals, but in creating a culture of their successful and efficient cooperation,” the President is convinced.
She also drew attention to the global challenges facing the Slovenian and European economies, the stagnation of the European economy compared to the US and China, and the lack of adequate funding to promote innovation and productivity growth. She stressed that it is crucial for long-term competitiveness that Slovenia and Europe develop their own innovations. She also stressed the importance of cooperation between the government, the private sector, universities and research institutions, “because only in this way will we be able to create a more dynamic and competitive economy that will be based on our own knowledge and innovation. Which will therefore be a healthy and solid whole, greater than the sum of its individual parts,” she said.
She concluded her speech with the thought that the Slovenian economy is not only the foundation of the country’s economic strength, but also a pillar of broader social development. “I have repeatedly emphasized that we can only have a strong social state with a strong, resilient economy. If the economy is doing well, all of us and our wonderful country can do better,” the president emphasized, congratulating this year’s awardees for their exceptional achievements, which are “a solid foundation for a successful and secure future for both the economy and society as a whole.” She thanked the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia for organizing the event, which, according to the president, carries the message among people every year that we have exceptional individuals and companies among us who contribute a lot to society.
