In her speech to mark Europe Day in Ljubljana yesterday, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stressed that Europe is not just a collection of agreements or economic advantages.
“Europe is the promise of peace that millions of Europeans have experienced after war. It is the promise of cooperation that emerged from long disagreements, and the promise of unity that we cultivate in our diversity,” she said.
