The Japan Day executive committee is organizing the 13th Japan Day, a traditional festival for all those interested in Japan.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, from 11 AM to 5 PM at the Republic Square (Trg Republike) in Ljubljana.
It will feature associations, groups, organizations, and individuals involved in activities related to Japan in Slovenia, with special guests from Japan also participating.

Discover and experience various aspects of Japanese culture and art, including music, dance, ikebana, tea ceremony, literature, martial arts, and cuisine.
Enjoy a concert of traditional instruments, Japanese dance, and kamishibai, a taiko workshop, an exhibition of samurai armor, and many other elements of Japanese culture.
The organizer of the event is the “Japan Day Event Committee”, with Assistant Professor Luka Culiberg, PhD, as the president, supported by the Embassy of Japan.

Japan Day – bring a decorative item or work of art
Are you interested in Japanese and East Asian art? Do you have a decorative object or artwork from Japan, China, or Korea at home that you would like to learn more about? Members of the East Asian Collections in Slovenia project group from the Department of Asian Studies at the Faculty of Arts invite you to bring them to their stand on Japan Day, on Saturday, June 21, 2025 , from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., where they will examine them together and chat with the objects in an interesting way.
